A really great tree for spring color, 'Ueno yama' emerges
very early, sometimes in early March in Atlanta. I may be color blind
but all the books call 'Ueno yama', 'Katsura' and 'Calico' orange
varieties but I consider them more yellow. Tell me what you think.
Anyway the bright spring color of 'Ueno yama' tends to last longer than
on the other similar varieties. All tend to darken to light green by
summer. Fall color is yellow to orange and very nice.
