A
large growing China Fir, Samuri is generally upright and slightly
pyramidal with drooping branches. Known for it's exceptional powder
blue new growth. Older foliage is dark green. Since this fast grower is
always growing except in the coldest part of the winter in the south,
the contrast between the older foliage and new growth is present all
summer long. Like many Cunninghamia 'Samurai' can be cut back all the
way to the ground and when it regrows it will come back bushier with
multiple canes. This gives the plant a much better shape in my oppinion
and allows this large grower to be kept in smaller gardens.
