The new leaves in spring are light green almost
yellow and darken as they age giving the entire tree a two-toned effect that is
quite striking. Although we do not recommend this plant for full sun in the
Southeast, if you place it where it can get direct morning or late evening sun
the new growth as it first appears will be tinted red. The growth habit is very pendulous and fall color is usually
orange.
